Tampopo Action
A System of Social Contribution Where Everyone Can Help Others.
Tampopo Action is an Initiative That Spreads Little Moments of Warmth Throughout Society.
Tampopo Action is NKC Group’s own social good initiative. It creates opportunities for everyone to enjoyably and easily participate in social contribution activities, spreading moments that warm the heart. The program encourages each employee to be more aware of society and to take meaningful steps to help others.

Past Actions
Sustaina Festa
The NKC Group has long been engaged in sustainability activities. Since 2021, it has held SDGs Month as a dedicated period to raise awareness of SDG achievement. In 2024, this initiative evolved into Sustaina Festa, an event designed for employees to participate more enjoyably, with a stronger emphasis on entertainment.
The theme of Sustaina Festa 2024 was diversity. From three perspectives (biodiversity in nature, diversity in human society, and diversity of sensibilities) it provided each participant with an opportunity to reflect on the importance of coexistence within the Earth’s ecosystems. Programs included an art project in collaboration with overseas offices called Let’s Create an Ocean Art Gallery, Cross-cultural Communication through Food, which deepened understanding of other cultures alongside global employees through shared meals, and hands-on learning experiences for parents and children, such as See and Touch the Coral Reefs, which taught biodiversity. These diverse programs allowed employees and their families to enjoy themselves while gaining a deeper understanding of diversity and being encouraged to take action.

Tampopo Meetup!
Tampopo Meetup! is an event that combines social contribution roundtables, networking, and charitable elements under the concept of having fun, being casual, and making society a little better. Past Tampopo Meetups have invited NPOs and companies that promote child support and social contribution, creating numerous opportunities for connections and communication. The event also introduces new mechanisms, such as allowing participants to vote for organizations they want to support, thereby encouraging engagement with these activities. Packed with diverse content, Tampopo Meetup! continues to expand its possibilities as an innovative platform for social contribution.

Tampopo Marché
A marketplace is held on the premises of the head office as a form of social contribution that anyone can easily participate in; one that makes both the creators and buyers happy while also benefiting society a little. The market offers foods that help reduce food loss, as well as sweets, accessories, and miscellaneous goods made at employment support facilities. In addition to reducing food waste, this initiative contributes to improving wages and creating meaningful work opportunities for people with disabilities.

Factory and other site-specific actions
At NKC, each factory engages in activities rooted in its local community. At the Mie Plant, employees watch over children on their way home from school. Rain or shine, in extreme heat or bitter cold, they stand on the streets without fail, earning a letter of appreciation from the Tsu-Minami Police Station for their efforts. At the Nabari Plant, in collaboration with the Nabari City Board of Education, factory members visit all 20 elementary and junior high schools in the city to carry out various beautification activities, including mowing grass, clearing mud from ditches, repairing school facilities, and fixing outdoor fences. These steady efforts help nurture strong connections with the communities and people who support them.

Tampopo Gift:
A Cycle of Thought That Warms the Heart and Connects to Society
When NKC employees participate in Tampopo Action, they earn NKC’s unique coins. These coins can be exchanged for ethical products or donated, creating a cycle where Tampopo Action contributes to achieving social good. The ethical products include items that raise awareness about microplastic issues or fair trade products, among others, all of which help address social challenges.
