Collaboration with local governments

Tackling Social Issues Hand in Hand with Government

Government agencies have long engaged with various social challenges, giving them a deep understanding and expertise in addressing these issues. On the other hand, private companies excel at providing speedy, economically sustainable solutions starting from a business perspective. To accelerate and expand the resolution of social issues by leveraging the strengths of both, the NKC Group has built partnerships with government agencies and collaborates with them to tackle these challenges.

Initiatives in Schools and Education

Learning and growing beyond the classroom

The NKC Group engages in a wide range of activities for elementary, junior high, and high school students across Osaka Prefecture. At the Waku Waku Doki Doki SDGs Junior Forum, students from seven junior high schools in the prefecture participated in presentations. Meanwhile, at the Kitaku Work Work Expo, NKC provided VR content that allowed students to experience an automotive manufacturing site firsthand. By creating opportunities for young people to explore new worlds beyond the classroom, we are helping to enrich the next generation’s educational experiences.

Animal Welfare Activities

Collecting meow-nice! moments through animal welfare initiatives

Through its animacolle brand, the Sash Hardware Division is engaged in public awareness and educational activities related to animal welfare. Under a comprehensive partnership agreement with Osaka Prefecture, a portion of sales is donated to support the activities of the Osaka Prefectural Animal Protection and Management Center, Animal Harmony Osaka, thereby contributing to the prefecture’s animal welfare initiatives.
As part of this collaboration, we also hosted the first shelter cat adoption event held on corporate premises in Osaka Prefecture. In fiscal 2025, we will launch the Hello Nyan Bus Project, using our original PR vehicle to collect and share heartwarming meow-nice! moments that bring people and animals together.

Food Drive

Turning everyone’s waste into everyone’s gain

A food drive is an activity in which surplus food from households is collected and donated to organizations that support people in need (such as local food banks), as well as to community kitchens and welfare facilities. Since 2018, NKC has collected unused food items from employees’ homes and purchased additional food and daily necessities requested by the community, combining them for donation to welfare organizations and individuals in need of support. In 2024, NKC conducted a food drive in the Tenma district, where the NKC Group is headquartered. Donations and surplus stock from local residents were collected and delivered to the Osaka City Kita Ward Council of Social Welfare.
